When it comes to choosing a paint coater, you want to make sure you make a well-thought out decision. It’s important that you choose the company that will work best for your needs –every company is different. So, what can (and should) your coater do for you? Things to Consider When Choosing Your Paint Finisher 1. Options. You want to make sure that the paint finisher of choice has options for you. You want a company that offers liquid coating and powder coating. If you regularly get powder coating, you never know when you might need a part done that requires liquid coating, and visa versa. Getting both done by the same company will streamline the process. It would also help if the company provided even more services for other miscellaneous projects you may have. 2. Paperwork is also a big factor: Shipping Call Truck Certifying Scheduling Invoicing These take a lot of time out of your day. If your coater is asking you to take care of all of this stuff on your own, you might want to think twice. Choose a paint finisher who will work with you through the process. 3. Quality coating. You want to make sure that your finisher assures quality work the first time around. If they don’t have good reviews, or satisfied customers they can refer you to, you may want to avoid using them. Never sacrifice quality for price – it’s rarely a good idea, especially when it comes to paint coating. 4. Great turnaround. Your paint coater should be offering a great turnaround time alongside their quality. If your finisher promises a fast turnaround time, you shouldn’t weigh that lightly. Getting your parts in on time is important. Also, even if their regular rate is quick, knowing that they can offer an expedited ship is also very helpful and useful for future notice, in case of emergency. 5. Proper packaging. In tandem with quick and on-time delivery, you want to assure that the packaging will be in proper order. If anything needs special attention or requirements, the company should see to that. 6. Experienced and knowledgeable. Lastly, you want a coater that has a high level of experience and knowledge of the field and each individual specifications for singular work such as military grade parts. You’ll want a company that knows what they’re doing and have been delivering quality work quickly – and has a great reputation with the military field. At Production Paint Finishers , we’re dedicated to consistent, quality work that’s done as fast as possible. Consider us for your next coating. 937-448-2627

Before trivalent chromium (CR(III)) became a prevalent pretreatment for aluminum surface finishing, there was CR(VI), or hexavalent chromium. Both of these compounds contain chromium, but in different stages of oxidation. Hexavalent chromium soon became a problem as it became a known carcinogen and a priority pollutant that was soon after restricted. Because of this, a great deal of research and effort was put into finding alternatives that were as effective against environmental corrosion but also better for the environment. As many companies have noticed around the world, more and more people are caring about the environment every day, so this change was important — both from the standpoint of selling and environmental consciousness. After this, NAVAIR, or Naval Air Systems Command, developed ways to use trivalent chromium, or TCP to use on aluminum alloys. The results turned out to be exceedingly positive. Since the rise of TCP, experiments have been conducted to reassure that it has no residual Cr(VI), which it does not. The linked experiment showed that in normal environments, no sign of hexavalent chromium appeared, which serves as a great advantage to trivalent chromium. Switching to trivalent chromium benefits you and your products with: High resistance to environmental corrosion Environmentally safe materials More safety for those handling it Trivalent chromium has proved itself to be the superior pretreatment process for aluminum alloys. It’s not only ideal for military uses, but also for coated products across the board. Military-grade products typically use TCP processes because of the strength and flexibility of the material, but its uses are good for products of all uses and purposes. Production Paint Finishers use trivalent chromium on their products to keep their coatings safe and strong. They want the best for you, too. They’ll work for you to get the best out of your product with a quick and efficient turnaround. If you’re looking for someone to coat and finish your part(s), request a quote from us to learn more!.

When you’re in need for some powder or liquid coating, you need it as soon as you can possibly get it. It’s understood that getting a quick turnaround is a very pretty important factor in choosing your painting finishers. Turnaround Time Factors Every company runs a little differently, but for us, the turnaround time comes down to these 5 factors: Materials: Materials are one of the biggest factors for how long the order will take to complete. Turnaround time for requests depends on the materials that are currently on-hand and materials that have to be ordered in. Always keep in mind that some orders will take longer to arrive than others. Size of the project: The size of the project also has an influence on the time it takes to finish. The size of the products you need powder or liquid coats –whether you need a lot of smaller parts or one exceptionally large– will all play a major role in the amount of time it will take to complete. Type of finish: Do you need your parts powder coated or liquid coated? The drying time is different for each process. Typically, powder coating will be the quicker option because it only needs one coat and once it is baked, it needs no drying time. A part(s) that needs to be liquid coated, may take more time. Hands on deck: We always assure that the hands on deck will be enough to get the job done in plenty of time. But again, sometimes in unexpected circumstances, the amount of people working on a project can affect how long the project takes. Shipping: Depending upon the size of your project, and the estimated time-frame in which you need your parts, the shipping costs can vary. Need your project shipping to be expedited? No problem! Just remember that it will come at an extra cost. That being said, it’s important to plan well ahead of time to save you money and get what you need on time with less stress on the both of us. Considering all of these factors, the average turnaround for Production Paint is around 5-7 days. Typically, we quote for a 5-day turnaround; however, we have completed projects in as little as 24 hours before. At Production Paint Finishers , we dedicate ourselves to getting the job done in the most efficient way possible for all of our customers. Powder coating. It’s everywhere. Last week, we discussed the benefits of liquid coating and why it may be the right choice for you. Today, we’d like to focus on why can’t you seem to stop seeing powder coating everywhere you look. What even is powder coating exactly? Powder coating is an established process that is improving every day with new technological advancements. It involves applying a coat of powder to a piece of metal using electrostatic bonding, which is then placed in an oven to fuse the layer into a solid coat of paint. There are so many fantastic benefits of powder coating, which is why it is doing so well in today’s market. Environmentally Friendly One of the biggest draws of powder coating is the fact that it is very environmentally friendly in comparison to other forms of coating metals. Green is all the hype! Two reasons powder coating is better for the environment are 1) the lack of solvents and 2) VOCs (volatile organic compounds). VOCs are found in paints in very small amounts—but in powder coating there are little to none! VOCs are often found in solvents, and solvents in liquid paint; it’s what makes the paint stick. Solvents are not needed in powder coating. Because powder coating adheres to a surface in a different way (electrostatic technology), solvents are simply not needed. Durable Powder coats are one of the most durable alternatives. Once cured in the oven, powder coating is stronger than any ordinary paint that you’ll find because it can bend without breaking or chipping. It also bonds with the surface of the object, making it as tough as can be. Along with powder’s environmental benefits, its durability is a strong selling point. Broader Color Palette As technology furthers, the color palette for any paint is almost unlimited. Colors that are more vibrant or complex are being added to the scale of powders all of the time—it’s even possible to have textured paint for special projects. There’s a broad spectrum of simple colors available at Production Paint. With these kinds of options, it’s hard to say no. Ease of Application Powder coating is easily applied to the surface of any part using an electrostatic technique that bonds the powder to the metal. It only takes one coat, rather than the two you may need with a liquid paint, which in turn cuts down the application process quite a bit. Easily Marketable Because powder coating is so environmentally friendly, durable, and versatile, it makes it easy to market to customers. With all of these benefits, it’s easy to see how powder coating gets its “hot topic” status in the If you’re looking for a part or parts to be powder coated, request your quote with Production Paint Finishers today!

With all of the options out there, it can be hard to know what the best option is for painting your industrial parts. There are two options when it comes to painting: (1) powder coating and (2) liquid coating. But we understand that it may be hard to navigate your way to the option that is the right fit for your needs. While both have their own advantages, today we are going to take a look at four of the benefits of having a liquid coating and why it might be the right fit for you. Economical The first notable benefit for liquid coating is the fact that because the paint can be applied thinly so you need less of it, which in turn makes it an economic option. Less painting material means less money and an affordable option for you! Variety of Choice Liquid coating also gives a vast variety of options in more ways than one. For starters, the liquid paint has a wide expanse of color choices, including both metallics and pearls, which can give your product the flair you’ve been looking for. Liquid also comes in various specialty coats. These specialty coats include glow-in-the-dark and teflon, which are ideal for specialty markets like military, medical, aerospace, and transportation needs. Lower Error When painting with a liquid spray, the occurrence of film builds lowers. More film builds means a higher chance of rejected parts and a longer production time, which isn’t ideal for anyone. With consistent and effective coating, you and your team save a substantial amount of time and money. Easily Markable Sometimes, there will be sections of a piece that are not supposed to be painted and are taped off. Regular tape will not withstand the heat of the oven to keep a section paint-free on products that require baking. With liquid paint, because there is no need for an oven to set the paint, so sections can easily be marked off. In order to choose the path that’s best for your product, be sure to plan ahead and do your research to find the option that suits your specific need. The painting process is going to be varied for each product in order to fit the specific needs for each individual part. Sometimes liquid coating will be the right fit and sometimes powder coating will be the better choice—it’s all about the product. Production Paint Finishers is here to provide you with the top quality for your painting and coating needs and more.
